Our First Kokedama Making Workshop

Our First Kokedama Making Workshop

February 22, 2026Tyger Burch

This past Sunday (February 21st) we celebrated our one-year anniversary of launching the coolest little farm stand in town with our first workshop of the year, Kokodama Making!

For those unfamiliar, Kokodama is a traditional Japanese planting and arranging process that uses a ball of soil wrapped in moss and secured with string or fishing line to create a beautiful living art piece that's recently exploded in popularity.

Ms. K taught our class of visitors how to set up, arrange and care for these incredibly fun "plant sculptures" while also sharing some of the history behind the practice. Students were able to personalize their arrangements from a wide selection of herbs, flowers, ferns and other cuttings from around the urban garden. There were a lot of laughs, conversations and connections made over fresh brewed coffee, tea and a special treat right from our test kitchen.

It was a great time, and we were truly blessed with such an awesome group of participants. We can't wait to host the next event and hope you'll keep an eye on our calendar and social media for more info!
